Established as an Agricultural Society in 1972, the Springbank Park For All Seasons (SPFAS) is a not-for-profit organization that can issue charitable receipts for financial donations. Led by an independent and voluntary community-based Board of Directors, SPFAS utilizes a governance model whereby the Board of Directors retain general oversight of operations and activities, provides strategic direction and is responsible for the stewardship of financial resources, as well as the long-term viability and sustainability of SPFAS facilities.In conjunction with focusing on providing strong customer service and support to the users of SPFAS facilities, the Board of Directors strives on an ongoing basis to plan for and be responsive to the recreational, social and cultural needs of residents of the Springbank and other communities.

The Springbank Park For All Seasons Agricultural Society (SPFAS) is led by the Board of Directors, which typically is comprised of 24 – 26 individuals. Board Members are formally appointed each year in September during the Annual General Meeting (AGM). Board Members serve voluntarily. A number of Board Members serve as representatives of SPFAS User Groups. In addition to the Annual General Meeting (AGM), the Board of Directors meets 6 – 8 times per year; these meetings are open to the general public.
The Board of Directors is led by the SPFAS President. Via the President’s leadership, the Board of Directors provides direction and establishes policy to guide SPFAS operations and capital development.
The Board of Directors is charged with the overall corporate responsibility of leading the Springbank Park For All Seasons Agricultural Society in a manner that ensures SPFAS facilities are utilized for a wide array of recreational, social and cultural programs, events and activities. In conjunction with striving to effectively serve the residents of Springbank and other communities, the Board of Directors ensures that SPFAS facilities are safe, affordable and attractive. The Board of Directors is also responsible for ensuring that the SPFAS facilities are financially viable and sustainable on a long-term basis.
The Board of Directors retains a mandate to plan for future facility preservation and development. This includes planning for the replacement of existing capital assets at the ends of their life cycles, as well as planning to refurbish and renovate facilities to ensure they continue to be safe and attractive. This mandate also includes planning to accommodate the future service delivery needs of facility users in a manner that addresses projected population growth in the Springbank Community.
The Board of Directors has established the Operations & Capital Enhancement Committee and the Long-Term Planning Committee. These two Committees assist the Board of Directors by providing guidance and recommendations.
